About

Matt is a pediatrician & orthopaedic specialist and Michelle an occupational therapist. They have 3 children: Eli, Lucas and Mya.

After nearly 20 years of working and raising their family in North Carolina, the Ravish family answered a call to serve at a hospital in Togo, West Africa.

Matt and Michelle have always seen their careers in medicine and therapy as an avenue to help meet the physical needs of others, in order to share God's love. After spending a month in Togo as a family, in 2023, they returned to the US, knowing God was calling them to long term missions in West Africa.

In August 2025, the Ravish family begins full time service with World Medical Missions. They will first complete a year of language school in France, prior to moving to Togo.

FAQ

Why Togo?
Close

The simple answer is, God's leading! Through providential conversations and new friendships we were introduced to the needs in Togo and specifically at HBB. After visiting as a family in 2023, we knew God was directing our family to return and serve long term. Togo is home to at least 46 unique people groups, including many that are still unreached with the gospel. Our desire is to use the talents and skills of medicine that we have been given, to help bring hope and healing to this region.

The official language of Togo is French, although approximately 40 indigenous languages are spoken there. Before moving to Togo, we will complete one year of full time immersive language school in France. This will begin September 2025.
